a couple shows in the works... and then a rest

This summer there is talk of a couple art shows taking place , one in Whistler and the other in Squamish, which Blind Mute is helping organize.
The Whistler show will be part of a summertime event at the old Whistler Hostel grounds on the shores of Alta Lake.  Read more about the location here.    But unlike many of Blind Mute Productions many shows of the past this one will not have a theme to it,   artists were simply asked to show their best work.

The Squamish show will be the third showing of the "la Tormenta Violenta de Arte" exhibit which had shown in Whistler (April 2011) and Vancouver (May 2011).   The date for the Squamish show is still being finalized but we will repost it ASAP.

We at Blind Mute would love to see your smiling faces at either of the shows...  till then...

BMP for life.

oh, I almost forgot,   after these couple of shows the Blind Mute will be taking a long well deserved rest.

Get to the POINT!

The Point Artist-Run Centre Society, in collaboration with Blind Mute Productions and WMN.FM radio, is hosting its first art and live music show at the former hostel on the shore of Alta Lake.

The Point was formed in 2009 by a diverse group of artists working in the Whistler area who are intent on creating an artist-run centre offering studio, live/work, performance and exhibition space––a homebase and hub where artists can collaborate on projects, interact with visiting artists and develop an ongoing conversation with the general public.

The Point Artist-Run Centre Society welcomes the community to an afternoon and evening of live music performances accompanied by a visual art exhibition and sale.
Get to the Point! is the inaugural arts event at the former Whistler Hostel, a heritage lodge in a spectacular setting on the shore of Alta Lake.

Featuring artists from Whistler, the Sea-to-Sky and Vancouver.

Live simulcast on WMN.fm radio including musical performances and artist interviews.

***Walking, biking and boating are encouraged modes of travel as parking is limited.

Thank you

I wanted to thank everybody who attended the "la Violenta Tormenta de Arte" exhibit/party last Friday night in Whistler.   It ment a lot to the artists, DJ's and organizers.   With a last minute change of venue it was pretty stressful, not knowing how many would turn up,  not even really knowing how to inform everybody about the new venue.   We had planned this event for 3 months and the morning of the show we found out we could not have it at the space we had planned on using.   (!!!)
In the end it turned out to be a good night,  with those who turned up to support dancing to the sweet sounds of Rus-2-Far-i , Jake"DESTRO" Spade,  Librarian, and Yan Zombie.    We kept the dance floor hopping till 4AM.
I wanted to thank all the artists who took part in this event.    Without you it would have been just another dance party.
Thanks to all the girls who showed up to shake their booties on the dance floor.   So good to see.
Cheers,
BMP
